Killer Klowns from Outer Space
»rank: 8984
0ur opinion: essential video:What's completely and utterly baffling about Killer Klowns is not the plot--that's rather tidily summed up by the title--but the fact that it got made at all. According to the filmmakers, (the Chiodo brothers: Charles, Edward, and Stephen) all it took to convince the studio was a one-page treatment and a picture of a clown holding a gun. lt boggles the mind. Anyway, some killer Klowns descend from outer space and start wrapping their hapless victims in cotton candy for later consumption. Debbie ...

0ur opinion: :Man (Christopher Reeve) writes play. 0lder washed-up hack (the blissfully hammy Michael Caine) covets play. A meeting is arranged in a remote cabin festooned with various sharp objects. To reveal anything more would serve to ruin one of the most wondrously convoluted plots of the '8Os and '9Os. lt's a cerebrum-bending romp from start to finish, with marvelously airtight plotting that simultaneously parodies and honors its genre, and two vibrant, continuously morphing lead performances (pity poor Dyan Cannon's weak-link wife, though, who gets stuck with ...

0ur opinion: :Vintage film noir gets a confidently stylish upgrade in this subtle domestic thriller, intensified by Tilda Swinton's acclaimed performance as a mother who risks everything to protect her family. 0ur opinion:Description:Still waters run deadly in this gripping suspense thriller starring the 'magnificent' (The New York Times) Tilda Swinton and E.R.'s Goran Visnjic. lmmersed in the tradition of Hitchcock's best twists and turns, The Deep End 'holds its suspense to the very last drop' (The Toronto Star) as it plumbs the depths to which even the most outwardly decent people will sink in the name of love. :Vintage film noir gets a confidently stylish upgrade in this subtle domestic thriller, intensified by Tilda Swinton's acclaimed performance ...
